UltraViolet – Pantone 2018 Color of the Year

This New Yorker is starting off the year right, sporting the hottest color in the fashion scene, UltraViolet.

Take your street style to the next level by playing around with colors seen recently at Men’s New York Fashion Week. A classic streetwear look of a hoodie and cuffed jeans, paired with a wool coat creates a solid base to add pops of color. At this point, you could add in some UltraViolet socks as seen here or even swap out the gray hat for a more colorful option. These are just a few subtle ways to play around with UltraViolet, but don’t be afraid to go bold!

Outfit Details:

  • Socks – J Crew
  • Coat – Rag & Bone
  • Hoodie – H&M
  • Jeans – Rag & Bone
  • Sneakers – Allbirds

I dare you to enter your closet and make an outfit out of pieces that don’t traditionally go together. You never know what you may come up with, it could be your new favorite look!

Here we have a two-piece jersey and shorts set paired with more traditional pieces, like a black blazer and oxfords. The trick to pulling off a look like this is having the confidence to try new things.  For this outfit, athletic wear has been turned into an office-friendly look by layering with a classic turtleneck and blazer. This New Yorker represented her personal style with studded oxfords, a trendier version of a staple shoe.

Outfit Details:

  • Blazer – Helmut Lang
  • Jersey Set – Nike
  • Turtleneck – Zara
  • Shoes – Unknown British Brand

Two-piece sets create the complete illusion.

Wake up late and don’t know what to wear? Grab your favorite two-piece set for an instant solution.

Matching sets give the illusion of being put-together with minimal effort. If you’re new to wearing a matching set, try a simple pattern like seen here on this knit jogger set. To break up the print or to avoid a monochromatic look, layer with jackets of different textures. A classic leather motto or distressed jean jacket will do the trick. Don’t forget to personalize the look with your favorite accessories. This could mean pom-pom sneakers and fruit bag for some, and a red bandana with Vans for another. Do you.
