Take your style in retrospect.

Travel back to high school in a classic letterman jacket.

If you weren’t a jock in school, do not fret. Letterman jackets can be found at many retailers or even your local thrift shop. Layer a hoodie that compliments the colors in the jacket, like the white one worn by this New Yorker. Pairing black pants with the black jacket allows the yellow accents to pop. Continue adding pops of color to your outfit, like bright sneakers shown here.

People like to say that nothing is better than a man in a suit, but I like to argue, nothing is better than a man in a well-tailored suit.

Whether you’re tailoring your pants to rock the skinny leg trend or adjusting arm-pocket seams fit just on top of the shoulder, tailoring is vital to looking your best in a suit.

Aside from tailoring, my second piece of advice when wearing a suit is to make it your own.   In a large city, thriving with businessmen, stand out by going for an all over plaid print or even opting for a color outside of your neutral comfort zone. Get inspired by this New Yorker, trade in your penny loafers for some leather combat boots. He further proclaimed is personal style with a studded belt. If belts aren’t your thing, watches can also add a unique touch.

Athleisure is making its mark on the city and fashion industry as a whole.

Casual Friday isn’t only on Friday’s anymore and New Yorkers are embracing it! The sneaker craze is growing and companies like Nike and Adidas are stepping out of the gym and onto the streets.

Just a few easy steps and you’ll be joining the athleisure movement. Sneakers, sweats and a touch of personal style. Along with the athleisure trend, neutral colored sneakers have been on the rise and go great with just about everything. Slip into a comfortable hoodie or even some joggers and you’re living the trend, it’s that easy. Don’t forget to express yourself by adding some accessories that scream, you! This New Yorker made his statement with a few touches of gold jewelry.

Back to the basics.

Wardrobe staples are a must and can even be paired together for a classic look. Cuff the bottoms of your comfy tan jeans to make your white sneakers pop. Trend alert! White sneakers are the easiest way to make a subtle statement in today’s fashion worlds. Take a tip from the casual Friday playbook, go ahead and layer a denim jacket over a crisp white polo. If you’re itching to make more of a statement, opt for pinstripe denim like this New Yorker did here!

Wait there’s more..

Finish off the look by tying a sweater of your choosing around the waist. Now you not only look complete but a bit more stylish too.
